Radisson Hotel Group has signed an agreement with Metropol Group to open its first premium-class hotel in Tashkent. The 22-storey complex will appear on Broadway, where the former State Security Service building was located, the Association of Hoteliers of Uzbekistan said.
The project will be the first Radisson Collection hotel in Central Asia to be officially in business in 2026.
The hotel complex with an area of about 130 thousand square meters will boast four buildings, made in a single architectural style with public spaces, shopping areas, a cinema, offices, apartments, multi-level underground parking, conference rooms and meeting rooms.
It will be a 22-storey classical-style building with an area of more than 27 thousand square meters designed for 164 rooms, including presidential suites and apartments.
The hotel will also have a restaurant, a lobby bar, and an executive lounge with a VIP lounge. One floor will be dedicated to a spa with swimming pools. On the 19th floor, there will be a Sky bar with a terrace.
The Radisson Hotel in Tashkent will be located on Sayilgokh Street, better known as Broadway.
In June 2021, the Metropol Group- owned by the son of the former Foreign Minister of Uzbekistan- Daniyar Kamilov, privatized the former State Security Service building for 210 billion soums.
According to the historical and cultural project Tashkent Retrospective, the former SSS facility is a historic building from the 1950s.
