The volume of trade between Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan is expected to reach one billion dollars. The Ministry of Investments, Industry and Trade (MIIT) informs.
Laziz Qudratov, Minister of Investments, Industry and Trade of Uzbekistan, noted the necessity to scale up the mutual trade by 1 billion dollars which was only 53% in 2022. He announced this during the meeting with the Minister of Economy of Azerbaijan Mikail Jabbarov and other relevant ministries and departments of the two countries.
The ministers agreed to organize the trade of fruits and vegetables, textiles, leather and footwear products, as well as on holding regular trade and business missions and exhibitions of national products in major cities of both countries.
It is expected to establish the Uzbekistan-Azerbaijan investment fund, which is aimed at supporting the development of projects related to car production, cotton and textile production, silk industry and other industries.
The parties also welcomed the holding of the first forum of the regions of Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan and the third meeting of the Business Council. The practical aspects of the implementation of the documents planned to be signed in an open and constructive spirit were analyzed.
