Uzbekistan ranked 40th in the world and 1st in Central Asia gaining a total of 66 points in the Open Data Inventory (ODIN) by Open Data Watch. In 2020, the country was in the 44th position with 63 points.
Between 2020 and 2022, Uzbekistan overall scored mere 4 points (from 52 to 56) in data coverage and 2 in data openness (from 72 to 74) which means Central Asia’s most populous state has improved its position in the ranking due to some positive results in justice and the state budget.
The digitalization of the public procurement system, the creation of an online platform, the digitalization of the activities of the judiciary, and ensuring its openness have played crucial roles in the evaluation process.
The Central Asian states ranked in the following order: Kazakhstan 48th, Kyrgyzstan 89th, Tajikistan 120th and Turkmenistan 192nd.
