The State Security Service of Uzbekistan has initiated a criminal case over the deaths of children who drank "Dok-1 Max" syrup. The investigators found that "Dok-1 Max" and "Ambronol" drugs were not subject to laboratory tests in the prescribed manner.
The drugs imported by Quramax Medical should have been tested by the "Scientific Center for Standardization of Medicines". And yet the company received the certificates of compliance.
Further investigation revealed that the requirements of the regulatory and legal documents were blatantly violated by the "Scientific Center for Standardization of Medicines" ltd., which led to the suspicious-quality drugs being distributed.
As part of the criminal case, two senior employees of Quramax Medical and two officials of "The Scientific Center for Standardization of Medicines" have been arrested.
"Necessary measures are being taken to verify that the drugs belonging to Quramax Medical have been registered in Uzbekistan in the prescribed manner and the actions taken by the officials of the healthcare system in this regard.
In order to avoid any further negative consequences, we ask you not to spread unverified or unfounded information on this topic," the Service report reads.
