Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Tourism has unveiled its plans to boost the tourism sector in the republic, the media reports referring to Abrorkhuja Minovarov, Deputy Head of the Investment and Tourism Infrastructure Development Department of the Ministry of Tourism and Cultural Heritage.
Hotel complexes, cafes, shopping centers, and other infrastructure may soon appear on the territory of Akchakul in Karakalpakstan. This area has a high potential for creating a beach area, Minovarov noted. In 2023, the conservation of five fortresses will be carried out in the region to make them new tourist attractions.
'While developing the tourism sector in our country, the ministry directs its efforts not only to the creation of tourist sites but also to the preservation of historic sites and the development of museums', Abrorkhuja Minovarov added.
On top of that, he concluded that much attention is drawn to preserving natural landscapes.
