Millions of dollars worth of export agreements were made by selling national handicraft products produced in Uzbekistan on international online platforms. Bobur Mansurov, the deputy chairman of the "Hunarmand" association, spoke about this in a brief interview with the "Daryo" correspondent.
Mansurov said that the sale of national handicraft products via international online stores is soaring exponentially such as uzcrafts.uz, suzanishop.uz and ikatmarketing.com, and uzcraft.com.
In the field of handicrafts, national brands such as "Chust Do'ppi", "Adras of Margilan", "Karakul Fur", and "Rishtan Ceramics" have been created, reflecting our national traditions, and more than 250 artisans with such brands are selling on platforms such as Amazon, eBay and ETSY. more than 5,000 products were placed in 12 high-demand areas of national handicrafts, and the volume of online sales exceeded 1.5 million dollars.
In order to improve the knowledge and skills of the Uzbek craftsmen who trade online, the number of artisans working in the E-Commerce system has leapfrogged from 220 to 500 by organizing a total of 42 educational seminars and training courses 3 times a month in each region.
It was added that by ensuring the participation of 320 artisans in 28 handicraft exhibitions held in foreign countries next year, the volume of trade in this direction would reach 1.5 million dollars, establishing cooperation relations and it is planned to support the export of products by concluding a direct contract and to increase the annual export volume to 15.3 million dollars.
