Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Monday (December 12) held a meeting that discussed measures aimed at accelerating the process of the country’s accession to the World Trade Organization. Besides, it covered preparations for the 6th meeting of the Working Group.
The Deputy Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade Badriddin Abidov briefed participants on the implemented activities in the abovementioned direction and outlined priorities for accelerating the process next year.
Participants stressed the importance of activating the activity of the Central Asian country’s diplomatic missions abroad. In this context, the Ambassadors of the Republic of Uzbekistan were given the main directions for further work to implement the tasks set by the Government within the framework of the republic's WTO accession. Besides, the event stressed the need to intensify bilateral negotiations on market access for goods and services with all WTO member countries and sign completion protocols.
