The Minister of Energy of Kazakhstan, Bolat Akchulakov, spoke about the possibility of establishing a gas union between Kazakhstan, Russia and Uzbekistan. This was reported by "Nur.kz".
According to the Minister, the issue of the tripartite gas union had not been discussed.
"The talks were held in the bilateral format i.e. between Kazakhstan – Russia and Kazakhstan – Uzbekistan, not in a tripartite way," Akchulakov noted.
The minister also stressed that the parties discussed the technical aspect of gas transmission systems and the possibilities of building new ones.
"Two-way work is being carried out in this format. Of course, some issues require the agreement of all parties. But there was absolutely no talk of creating some kind of alliance," the head of the Ministry of Energy said.
