First Deputy Foreign Minister Furkat Sidikov on Thursday (December 1) held a meeting with the Italian Ambassador to Uzbekistan Agostino Pinna. The parties discussed the practical aspects of bilateral cooperation in the trade as well as measures aimed at deepening economic diplomacy between the two countries, taking into account all of the applicable instruments.
Besides, the diplomats emphasized the importance of putting efforts into finding new ways of expanding the volume of trade and investment cooperation. The envoy of the Southern-European country stressed that more Italian enterprises are now interested in establishing business ties with their Uzbek partners. In addition, it was stated that the volume of exports of Uzbek products to Italy should hike under the republic’s GSP+ beneficiary status.
