Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan agreed to implement joint projects on the rapprochement of Turkic languages, the media reports citing an associate professor of the Tashkent State University of the Uzbek language and literature named after Alisher Navoi Muyassar Saparniyazova.
'We believe we must create a database of names in Azerbaijani, Turkish, and Uzbek languages. And in this regard, we need to establish cooperation. Of course, Uzbek and Azerbaijani languages, literature, and culture are related, but still, we have much to learn from one another. Therefore, we have a lot of work and plans in this area' - Saparniyazova said, noting that a memorandum had been concluded between the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences and the local institution that resulted in the establishment of the Azerbaijan Fizuli Cultural Centre as well as the creation of dictionaries of Uzbek and Azerbaijani languages.
'Our visit to Azerbaijan took hold as part of the projects implemented in our two universities. The first project aims to establish the reserve of national names for production enterprises. Our second project aimed to create an intelligent spelling dictionary of Uzbek names', Muyassar Saparniyazova stressed.
