President Mirziyoyev held talks with the delegation headed by Prime Minister of Pakistan Shahbaz Sharif as part of the summit of the Conference on Cooperation and Confidence Building Measures in Asia, which is being held in Astana, Kazakhstan, the press service of the Uzbek President reports.

The leaders of Uzbekistan and Pakistan noted the importance of using wide opportunities for mutually beneficial cooperation in trade, investment, innovation, transport-communication and cultural-humanitarian spheres.

Prospects for the implementation of the strategic project on the construction of the Termiz-Mazari-Sharif-Kabul-Peshawar railway were discussed in detail in order to support the peace process and socio-economic recovery in Afghanistan.
