To ensure the integrity of reforms and have solidified activities, the Strategic Reforms Agency under the President has been established on the basis of the Strategic Development Agency by the relevant decree of the President of Uzbekistan.
The main tasks of the Strategic Development Agency are:
• development, organization and control of proposals for the reform of individuals, local and foreign experts;
• critical analysis of reforms, assessing their effectiveness, identifying systemic problems that create conditions for corruption, and taking measures to eliminate them;
• systematic organization of international financial institutions, and foreign organizations, as well as non-partisan assistance;
• transformation of companies with state participation, including preparation of reports based on international standards, and monitoring of independent members in management bodies.
Who appoints the head of the agency?
The Council of the Strategic Reforms Agency under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan was formed under the personal chairmanship of Shavkat Mirziyoyev. The Council was given a number of powers.
The General Director of the Agency and his deputies are appointed and dismissed by the President.
