The reports of ungrounded methane gas price hikes had made the Antimonopoly Committee of Uzbekistan intervene and conduct a thorough study.
The results have shown that today the price of 1 cubic meter of methane gas is stable and sold at an average of 2300 to 2800 soums by car gas stations across the country.
In accordance with the decision of the Cabinet of Ministers on July 14, the increase in tariffs for methane gas and electricity for business has been temporarily suspended.
Nevertheless, there have been reports of price gouging at some gas stations since July 15.
The Ministry of Energy responded and assured the public that the sales prices of products for gas filling stations did not increase and remained at the same level, and there were no objective reasons for increasing the price of methane.
