The heads of Turkmenistan and South Korea concluded a series of negotiations culminating in the signing of multiple bilateral documents. President Serdar Berdimuhamedov of Turkmenistan welcomed President Yoon Suk-Yeol of the Republic of Korea on a state visit to Ashgabat, which commenced on June 10.
The meeting concluded with an elaborate signing ceremony, witnessed by both heads of state, where several agreements were formalized. Among the pivotal documents inked were:
- Cooperation Agreement between State Concern Türkmenhimiýa and Hyundai Engineering: This agreement paves the way for collaboration on the commissioning and operation of a polymer plant in Kiyanly.
- Framework Agreement on Cooperation between State Concern Turkmengaz and Hyundai Engineering: This agreement focuses on the design and construction of commercial gas preparation facilities at the Galkynyş gas field.
- Memorandum of Understanding between Emergency Care Centre of the Ministry of Health and Medical Industry of Turkmenistan and Chilgok Hospital at Kyungpook University: Aimed at fostering medical cooperation between the two nations.
- Memorandum of Understanding between Scientific and Clinical Centre of Oncology of Ministry of Health and Medical Industry of Turkmenistan and Chilgok Hospital at Kyungpook University: Furthering collaboration in the field of oncology.
- Memorandum of Understanding between Ashgabat City Administration and Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport of Republic of Korea: Focusing on energy infrastructure and urban development.
- Memorandum of Understanding between Bank for Foreign Economic Affairs of Turkmenistan and Export-Import Bank of Korea and Korea Trade Insurance Corporation: Enhancing financial cooperation.
- Memorandum of Understanding between Governments of Turkmenistan and the Republic of Korea: On assisting the activities of the joint cooperation commission.
- Memorandum of Understanding between Governments of Turkmenistan and Republic of Korea: Establishing a framework for trade and investment stimulation.
The signing culminated in a joint statement by Presidents Berdimuhamedov and Yoon Suk-Yeol, underlining the outcomes of the Republic of Korea President's visit to Turkmenistan.
Addressing the media after the signing ceremony, President Berdimuhamedov expressed sincere appreciation to President Yoon Suk-Yeol and the Korean delegation for the constructive negotiations conducted in an atmosphere of openness, mutual understanding, and trust.
