The joint portfolio between Uzbekistan and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) now encompasses 39 projects worth €4.3bn, spanning various sectors including water supply, sewerage, irrigation, agriculture, education, transport, road reconstruction, and support for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
On October 11, Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade Laziz Kudratov met with a delegation from the EBRD led by Vice President Matteo Patrone. During the meeting, Kudratov extended his congratulations to Patrone on his recent appointment as Vice President of the EBRD and emphasized the enhanced cooperation observed in recent years.
The discussions highlighted eight promising projects currently under development, valued at €1,043mn, focusing on critical sectors such as water supply, education, energy, road reconstruction, transport, and solid waste management.
Both parties agreed on the need to attract technical and advisory support from the EBRD for the development and implementation of new public-private partnership projects in infrastructure development, health, education, water supply, and road modernization. EBRD representatives also expressed their readiness to expand support for energy and renewable energy initiatives, as well as other priority projects in Uzbekistan.
The parties reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening and expanding their partnership, pledging to continue collaborative efforts across various areas of multifaceted cooperation.
