On September 16, Uzbekistan's President Shavkat Mirziyoyev and German Chancellor Olaf Scholz celebrated the opening of a new joint School for the Training of Management Personnel. The inauguration ceremony highlighted a significant collaboration between Uzbekistan and Germany aimed at enhancing the capabilities of management professionals. This initiative represents a major step forward in the effort to modernize public administration and management practices within Uzbekistan.
The project is a result of cooperation between the Academy of Public Administration under the President of Uzbekistan, the Public Service Development Agency, the Hanns Seidel Foundation, and the Bavarian School of Public Administration. The launch was presented to the leaders via videoconference, providing detailed insights into the school’s objectives and scope. The school is set to offer comprehensive training programs designed to strengthen the managerial skills of personnel in various regions of Uzbekistan.
The primary goals of the joint venture include boosting socio-economic development, attracting foreign investment, and incorporating advanced technologies. By focusing on these areas, the school aims to elevate the effectiveness of regional management, drive sustainable growth, and support Uzbekistan’s broader modernization efforts.
German Chancellor Olaf Scholz arrived in Samarkand on September 15 at the invitation of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev. During the visit, high-level talks took place, focusing on the further development of Uzbek-German cooperation across various sectors. As a result of the negotiations, Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Chancellor Scholz adopted a Joint Declaration, and eight bilateral agreements were signed. Additionally, a Program for Technological Partnership and Industrial Cooperation for 2024-2026 was agreed upon, along with several agreements and contracts between leading enterprises from Uzbekistan and Germany.
