Azim Ibrohim, the Minister of Transport of the Republic of Tajikistan recently held a meeting with Aleksandr Rashchikov, Senior Project Manager of the Eurasian Fund for Stabilization and Development (EFSD) to discuss critical infrastructure projects aimed at enhancing road safety in Tajikistan. The meeting focused on the construction of over 51 anti-avalanche galleries along vulnerable sections of Tajikistan's highways, covering a total length of more than 5.2 kilometers.
Also in attendance were the First Deputy Minister of Transport, Rakhim Bobozoda, Zafar Sharifzoda, Director of the State Institution “Center for the Implementation of the Dushanbe-Chanak Highway Rehabilitation Project” under the Government of Tajikistan and Daler Shodiev a representative from the EFSD's Dushanbe office.
The Eurasian Fund for Stabilization and Development established in 2009 is a regional financial institution with a total fund of over $9bn. It was created by the Republic of Armenia, the Republic of Belarus, the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, the Russian Federation and the Republic of Tajikistan. The EFSD's mission is to promote economic and financial stability among its member states and to support sustainable development initiatives.
