The failure of Kazakhstan's men's boxing team at the Paris Olympics was the catalyst for radical changes in the federation. According to TengriSport.kz, a post appeared on the federation's official account and then was deleted, announcing the dismissal of vice-president Aziz Kozhambetov and the entire national team coaching staff.
According to the publication, the posted text referred to the "unsatisfactory results" of the team, but the federation's press service soon denied the information about the dismissals, saying that the post was published mistakenly.
Despite this, the federation confirmed that changes in the coaching staff of the national team will still take place. Shakhmurat Mutalip, president of the Kazakhstan Boxing Federation, spoke about the reforms earlier, noting that the Olympics revealed serious mistakes and shortcomings in the work of the entire team.
We take full responsibility and don't want to make excuses. We are all to blame. And the federation, and coaches. All of us saw our mistakes, disadvantages and shortcomings and came to the conclusion that the Boxing Federation of Kazakhstan needs a big reform,
- stated Mutalip.
It is expected that the details of the upcoming changes in the coaching staff of the national team will be announced soon on the official pages of the Federation.
