The Prosecutor General's Office has released information regarding a tragic incident in Bostanlyk district, Tashkent region, where a 28-year-old prevention inspector fatally shot his wife and child before taking his own life. The details of the case were reported by Daryo.uz.
On the evening of August 6, at approximately 21:00 (GMT+5), a confrontation occurred between the inspector and his wife. During this altercation, the inspector used his service pistol to shoot his wife and their infant child. Following the murders, the inspector then used the same weapon to commit suicide.
The Bostanlyk district prosecutor's office has opened a criminal case under Article 97 of the Criminal Code, which pertains to "Intentional homicide." Investigative procedures are currently ongoing to further examine the circumstances surrounding this incident.
In 2023, Uzbekistan recorded a crime rate of 289 crimes per 100,000 people. The highest crime rates were observed in Tashkent and the surrounding capital region.
