Turkish special services notified their Russian counterparts of a planned second terrorist attack in Russia's Moscow, following the recent assault on Crocus City Hall, the Turkish government newspaper, Hurriyet reports.
The plot was orchestrated by militants from "Wilayat Khorasan," a group affiliated with the terrorist organization "Islamic State" (both banned in Russia). The militants intended to target a crowded shopping centre in Moscow.
The Turkish security services obtained information about the planned attack during the interrogation of supporters of the terrorist organization. The precise details of the interrogation and the planned attack were not disclosed.
The initial attack on the Crocus City Hall concert hall occurred on March 22, resulting in a tragic loss of life and injuries. Militants carried out a shooting and set a fire inside the building, leading to the deaths of 145 people and injuries to more than 500.
