The private airline Qanot Sharq has commenced direct flights between Tashkent and Seoul, marking an addition to its flight routes. The first flight connecting the capitals of Uzbekistan and South Korea took place on June 16, with an inauguration ceremony attended by key industry figures including Qanot Sharq's General Director Moses Pak and the Director of the International Capital Airport, Jasur Pulatov.
Qanot Sharq has scheduled flights to operate twice a week on Wednesdays and Sundays. The flight timings are set as follows: Departure from Tashkent is at 23:00, arriving in Seoul at 9:10 the next morning. The return flight departs from Seoul at 10:50 and arrives back in Tashkent at 14:35 on the same day.
The airline has set competitive pricing for these routes. A one-way ticket without luggage is priced from UZS 5.7mn ($451.5), while a return ticket starts from UZS 5.17mn ($409.51).
This new route comes in the wake of South Korean airline Korean Air's cessation of regular flights on the Seoul-Tashkent route on March 1. The suspension of Korean Air's service was attributed to a decline in sales and a shift in the airline's policy. Qanot Sharq’s new direct flights aim to fill this gap, providing a crucial link between the two cities.
