The Tashkent International Investment Forum (TIIF) hosted a dynamic pitch session titled "Pharmaceutical Oasis: Unleashing the Potential of Tashkent Pharma Cluster." This session spotlighted key investment ventures within the cutting-edge scientific and pharmaceutical hub known as "Tashkent Pharma Park."
Moderated by Khujaeva Shakhrizoda, the Head of Department at the Pharmaceutical Industry Development Agency of Uzbekistan, the session brought together notable speakers including Abdulla Azizov, Director of the Pharmaceutical Industry Development Agency of Uzbekistan, Farhat Fazl, Project Manager at Alphaone Pharmaceutical Company, Konstantin Glubokovskiy, Director of HaemaTech, and Matyokub Turaboev, Director of Grand Logistic Hub.
Central to the discussion was the "Tashkent Pharma Park" project, envisaged to encompass scientific, educational, administrative, and industrial zones. As it stands, the administrative segment of the complex is currently under construction.
The session saw participants outlining plans for the expedited construction of a pharmaceutical technical university, preclinical and clinical research centers, and other crucial infrastructure within the cluster.
Abdulla Azizov, in his address, shed light on the research center aspect of the "Tashkent Pharma Park" project. He emphasized the pivotal role of the medical research center, equipped to accommodate 250 individuals. Highlighting its multifaceted functionality, Azizov delineated that 60 of the project's hospitals and beds would be allocated for CR (medical research) activities, with the remainder serving as a multidisciplinary hospital. Moreover, Azizov underlined the project's global outlook, aiming to attract researchers and specialists from diverse corners of the globe.
Addressing potential investors, Azizov emphasized the advantages of the cluster, citing Uzbekistan's competitive land rental prices, favorable energy costs, and comparatively lower labor expenses, factors conducive to robust investment propositions.
The session served as a platform to unveil investment opportunities for localizing pharmaceutical production, integrating scientific advancements, and crafting a comprehensive cycle encompassing medication development, production, and logistics.
Importantly, the event provided an invaluable forum for presenting the investment potential of the "Tashkent Pharma Park" cluster to international investors and technology enterprises, signaling a promising trajectory for the pharmaceutical sector in Tashkent.
