The President of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development ( EBRD ), Odile Renaud-Basso, is scheduled to embark on a visit to Uzbekistan from May 1 to May 3, 2024. Her itinerary comprises meetings with senior government officials and foreign investors, marking a step in strengthening economic ties and fostering development in the region.
Renaud-Basso's three-day agenda is poised to include high-profile discussions with President Shavkat Mirziyoyev and key figures such as Deputy Prime Minister Jamshid Khodjayev and Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Economy and Finance Jamshid Kuchkarov. These bilateral meetings are anticipated to delve into a spectrum of issues vital to Uzbekistan's economic progress.
A highlight of the visit is Renaud-Basso's co-chairing of the second plenary session of the Foreign Investors Council and her address at the third plenary session of the Tashkent International Investment Forum. These platforms will serve as crucial avenues for deliberating on Uzbekistan's privatization initiatives, enhancing climate change resilience, strengthening the business environment through reforms, and addressing inter-regional transport connectivity and energy security concerns.
Underlining the EBRD's commitment to sustainable development, Renaud-Basso is expected to oversee the signing of several investment projects aimed at strengthening sustainable transport connections and nurturing youth entrepreneurship during her visit.

With 15 ongoing projects valued at a substantial €3bn, the EBRD is further solidifying its impact on Uzbekistan's developmental landscape. Spanning diverse sectors, these projects exemplify the EBRD's adaptable approach to fostering sustainable growth and prosperity throughout the nation.
