To enhance cooperation and facilitate employment opportunities, the Ministry of Employment and Poverty Reduction of Uzbekistan has inked an agreement with LUKOIL, a leading energy corporation based in Russia, the Agency for External Labour Migration reported. The agreement aims to organize the employment of Uzbekistan citizens for temporary labor activities within the LUKOIL group's organizations in the Russian Federation.
The signing ceremony, held at the Ministry of Employment and Poverty Reduction, saw the culmination of efforts from representatives of various stakeholders including the Ministry itself, the Foreign Labor Migration Agency under the Ministry, and LUKOIL. The agreement signifies a strategic alignment between the parties to foster mutually beneficial outcomes in the realm of labor mobility and skills exchange.
Under the terms of the agreement, candidates for employment will be meticulously selected, considering their qualifications, work experience, proficiency in the Russian language, as well as meeting medical and other necessary prerequisites for the job roles. A dedicated working group, comprising representatives from LUKOIL and the Foreign Labor Migration Agency under the Ministry of Employment and Poverty Reduction, will be entrusted with the responsibility of coordinating activities related to the deployment of specialists.
The agreement also entails provisions for extending comprehensive support to Uzbekistani workers in the Russian Federation, encompassing medical, social, and legal assistance. This initiative underscores a commitment to ensuring the welfare and safety of citizens engaged in temporary work assignments abroad.
Highlighting the strategic importance of Uzbekistan in LUKOIL's operational landscape, the agreement reaffirms the company's enduring commitment to the region. Over the years, LUKOIL has bolstered its presence in Uzbekistan and emerged as one of the largest investors in the country.
Currently, LUKOIL operates within Uzbekistan under production sharing agreements (PSA) for key projects such as Kandym-Khauzak-Shady and South-West Gissar. Spearheading these projects is LUKOIL Uzbekistan Operating Company, headquartered in Tashkent, with the National Holding Company (NHC) Uzbekneftegaz serving as the strategic partner.
