Balkan Shipyard, a local company operating in Western Turkmenistan, reports that its management has held talks in the Netherlands on cooperation in the field of dredging in the Caspian Sea and inland waters of Turkmenistan.
The meetings were held with representatives of Damen Shipyards Group, De Klop B.V., Dredge Yard B.V. and Dredging Service Europe. "The parties discussed opportunities for cooperation in the field of dredging, including the use of modern technologies and equipment".
In particular, Damen Shipyards Group demonstrated new dredging technologies, especially in the area of soil crushing.
Issues of localisation, joint construction and design of dredgers on the territory of Turkmenistan were discussed with De Klop B.V.
"The Turkmen side expressed its interest in conducting training courses on the repair of the main equipment and mechanisms of dredgers in its factory. The parties agreed to work out technical and price proposals".
De Klop B.V. also presented a project for an electric dredger. This solution could be particularly relevant to Turkmenistan, given the low cost of local natural gas-fired electricity.
According to the information, "Turkmenistan has great investment opportunities and is attracting the attention of the world's leading companies".
