The meeting saw the participation of Paola Pattachini, coordinator of the institute, and Selena Mezoraca, head of the special projects cooperation department.
Acknowledgment of Uzbekistan's Progress in Textile Design Sector
Paolo Pattachini, a seasoned expert with four decades of experience in textile design, acknowledged Uzbekistan's advancements and growth trajectory in the textile sector. Her familiarity with the sector's dynamics in Uzbekistan underscored the mutual understanding and appreciation for the country's burgeoning potential in design innovation.
The Italian experts expressed keen interest in the Uzbek President's initiative to establish a school of designers and technologists, particularly during his recent visit to the Andijan region on February 15. Embracing the proposal, they extended support towards attracting seasoned Italian designers across various domains such as clothing, household textiles, and industrial products to contribute to the school's curriculum.
Collaboration Agreement to Enhance Design Capabilities
A collaborative agreement was reached with the Italian side to dispatch specialists from the European Design Institute to Uzbekistan's new School of Designers and Technologists. Their expertise will play a pivotal role in nurturing talent and enhancing the design capabilities of enterprises in the Andijan region, with a specific focus on crafting market-ready products that align with contemporary demands.
Founded in 1996, the European Design Institute holds a distinguished status among Italy's premier higher education institutions. With branches spanning across Italy, Spain, and Brazil, the institute offers comprehensive education in visual arts, communication, fashion, and restoration. Notably, it provides an extensive array of 60 specialized training courses catering to diverse aspects of design education.
Boasting a student body of over 120,000, the institute's graduates occupy prominent roles as designers in globally renowned fashion houses such as "Moschino," "Dolce & Gabbana," "Gianfranco Ferré," and "Dior."
