Discussions are underway for the establishment of a new medical center in Tashkent through collaboration with an Indian company, attracting $2mn in investment, Dunyo reports.
Successful Partnership History
The groundwork for this initiative was laid during the official visit of Uzbekistan's President Shavkat Mirziyoyev to India in 2018. Ambassador Sardor Rustambaev's meeting with Nishant Bajaj, CEO of India's North East Healthcare/Srishti Hospitals Company, highlighted the successful establishment of the Zarmed Pratiksha joint hospital in Samarkand, marking a significant milestone in Uzbek-Indian collaboration in the medical field.
State-of-the-Art Facilities
The Zarmed Pratiksha joint hospital in Samarkand boasts state-of-the-art facilities, including surgery rooms and a 100-bed inpatient facility equipped with modern diagnostic equipment catering to various medical specialties. With a capacity to serve up to 600 people simultaneously, the hospital delivers comprehensive medical services adhering to international standards.
Expansion Plans
Building on the success of existing ventures, plans are underway to establish a new medical center in Tashkent in 2024. Organizational matters for this endeavor are currently under scrutiny, with a focus on attracting foreign investment amounting to approximately $2mn. The proposed center aims to further augment healthcare infrastructure and cater to the evolving needs of the populace.
Strengthening Mutual Cooperation
The dialogue between Uzbekistan and India also explored avenues for expanding mutual cooperation. Emphasis was placed on initiatives to enhance the skills of Uzbek medical professionals through training programs in leading Indian medical institutions. Additionally, efforts are underway to ensure the continuous presence of experienced Indian doctors at the joint hospital in Samarkand, contributing to the exchange of expertise and knowledge-sharing.
Earlier, it was reported that Sardor Rustambaev, the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Uzbekistan, arrived in the capital of India. Rustambaev, 45, brings with him a wealth of experience and knowledge in international relations and diplomacy.
