In Qatar, the world witnessed a showcase of innovation as more than 1000 participants gathered to compete in a competition highlighting Uzbekistan's most promising startups. Among the contenders, "IMAN" startup emerged as a standout, securing a coveted spot in the Top 3, Deputy Minister of Digital Technologies of Uzbekistan reported on his Telegram channel.
IMAN, a resident of IT Park, proudly navigated through all stages of the rigorous competition to clinch third place. With over 12,000 participants, including more than 1000 large startups, over 500 investors, and 200 speakers, the summit served as a platform for global collaboration and recognition of entrepreneurial prowess.
In the "Best Global M-Gov Award" competition, held under the auspices of the UAE government, Uzbekistan's startup "Don't Waste" secured second place among more than 1,000 projects from 62 countries. The recognition earned the project a prestigious prize of 500,000 UAE dirhams ($136,000), affirming its potential to drive impactful change on a global scale.
"Don't Waste" is a project dedicated to optimizing the utilization of food and consumer goods, minimizing wastage. The project operates through two main avenues. Firstly, it involves increasing the surplus of daily consumption items in restaurants and catering establishments, enabling the resale or donation of edible food. Through a dedicated mobile application, users can locate participating companies within their vicinity, facilitating access for those in need.
Secondly, the project focuses on repurposing expired products for use in livestock and poultry farming, either through sale or non-commercial means. Additionally, the project aims to explore future collaborations with companies to develop soil fertilizers by blending biochemical additives with deteriorating products.
In parallel, Huawei's Tech4Good initiative, as part of the "Seeds for the Future 2023" education program, provided a platform for eight students from Uzbekistan to showcase their talents on the global stage. Their outstanding performance earned them the Silver Award.
