A crucial meeting chaired by Shavkat Mirziyoyev has been convened, focusing on the government's priorities for economic development in the current year. The President's press secretary reported that a comprehensive system of monthly, quarterly, and annual Key Performance Indicators (KPI) will be implemented for leaders within the economic complex, with their salaries directly tied to their performance.
These leaders are tasked with engaging with the public, dedicating a week to address citizens and elucidate their plans in simple terms. The leaders shoulder significant responsibility for the outcomes of their plans.
Highlighting a shift towards decentralized operations, it was disclosed that 70% of deputy ministers' work now takes place at the district level. Deputy ministers are actively involved in orchestrating the implementation of KPIs set for their respective ministries directly in the field.
To ensure strict oversight of the set plans, a rigorous monitoring mechanism has been established. Weekly reviews of reports from heads of ministries and departments are conducted at the government headquarters, and quarterly assessments take place at the Oliy Majlis.
In a broader initiative to streamline the administrative structure, President Mirziyoyev previously conducted a comprehensive review of the system. As a result, a proposal to reduce the number of deputies in the economic complex by 15% was instructed. The proposal meticulously defines the responsibilities and duties of leaders and deputies at the district and regional levels, as well as those of the heads and deputies of 11 ministers and departments. The forthcoming implementation of this directive is expected to be stringent and precisely enforced.
