Notable attendees included President Vladimir Putin of Russia, President Ilham Aliyev of Azerbaijan, President Alexander Lukashenko of Belarus, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev of Kazakhstan, President Sadyr Japarov of Kyrgyzstan, President Emomali Rahmon of Tajikistan, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov of Turkmenistan, and Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan of Armenia.
The meeting served as a platform to review the key outcomes of multilateral cooperation in 2023 and deliberate on the priority tasks for the forthcoming year. Discussions within the CIS framework encompassed the exploration of prospects for advancing multilateral relations and addressing regional issues of significance.
Uzbekistan has actively contributed to the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) in recent years, joining over 20 sectoral cooperation bodies and endorsing 24 crucial agreements across priority sectors. The country's commitment is further highlighted by a portfolio of industrial cooperation projects exceeding $30bn with companies from CIS nations, spanning various industries.
President Mirziyoyev emphasized the imperative to significantly broaden practical cooperation within the CIS and enhance the efficiency of existing institutional mechanisms of collaboration during the meeting.
