Key discussions during the meeting centered around fostering mutual trade between Uzbekistan and Thailand, with a particular emphasis on providing incentives to attract tourists. The participants addressed various aspects of expanding cooperation, encompassing trade, economics, investments, and consular affairs.
A pivotal highlight of the dialogue was the prospective signing of a memorandum aimed at strengthening sister-city ties between Samarkand and Phuket. The parties underscored their commitment to fostering interregional connections, particularly in the areas of trade, investment, and consular affairs.
The officials also delved into initiatives to boost pilgrimage tourism in Uzbekistan, catering to the Muslim population of Thailand. The strategic discussion explored avenues for collaboration in promoting religious tourism, reflecting the shared cultural and historical ties between the two nations.
The meeting concluded with an agreement to organize a visit to Uzbekistan in 2024 for representatives of the Phuket tourism administration, as well as local aviation and travel companies.
