In response to an invitation from Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed al-Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, is set to embark on a working visit to Dubai. The purpose of this visit is to participate in the United Nations Climate Change Conference, scheduled to take place from November 30 to December 2.
The conference, a global summit on climate change, will see participation from heads of state and government from over 150 countries, as well as leaders of prominent international organizations and financial institutions.
The summit’s agenda is comprehensive, covering the implementation of key provisions of the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change, addressing contemporary environmental challenges and threats, and fostering broad international cooperation to advance the goals of “green” development.
President Mirziyoyev is expected to deliver a speech at the summit’s plenary session and engage in several bilateral meetings and negotiations.
It’s worth mentioning that the Republic of Uzbekistan became a signatory to the UN Framework Convention in 1993 and joined the Paris Agreement in 2018, demonstrating its commitment to global climate change initiatives.
