Wildberries has significantly reduced delivery times for Uzbek products to Russia. This announcement was made by Sardor Kadyrov, the Spot GR manager of Wildberries in Uzbekistan, during the Verona Eurasian Economic Forum.
Kadyrov explained that previously, Uzbekistan's products had to go through numerous procedures before reaching the marketplace, resulting in lengthy delays that discouraged manufacturers from participating. He stated:
The marketplace effectively solves this issue. [Wildberries] provides Uzbek manufacturers with a unique opportunity to send their goods, which can reach Moscow within three days, or 70 hours, to be precise. We committed the government to export [Uzbek products] worth $1 bn. We come from a mahalla where keeping one's word is a tradition.
The acceleration of delivery was made possible through collaboration with the Ministry of Digital Affairs, as well as partnerships with UzPost and Russian Post, according to Kadyrov. He said:
We send the goods by mail to individuals. This reduces costs for us and the suppliers, but most importantly, it significantly reduces delivery time. Our average delivery time to Moscow used to be 5-10 days, but now we are aiming for three days.
The GR manager of Wildberries reported that sales of Uzbek products on the platform witnessed an 84% year-on-year increase, amounting to $311 mn. The fastest-growing product category was household goods, which experienced an 806% surge. This was followed by cosmetics and perfumes (528% increase), health products (433% increase), toys (386% increase), and needlework (325% increase).
Wildberries has invested $412.5 mn in Uzbekistan, creating 22.5 thousand job opportunities. By 2024, the folding premises in Tashkent, Fergana, and Namangan regions are expected to expand to 350 thousand square meters, and the number of sellers on the platform will grow to 15 thousand.
