Kyrgyzstan honors Kyrgyz language in national celebration of State Language Day

In his heartfelt congratulatory message, President Japarov acknowledged the Kyrgyz language has a profound role in shaping the nation's identity and journey toward independence.

"We inherited from our ancestors the beautiful Kyrgyz land, values that have survived centuries, and preserved the nation and the Kyrgyz language that created the incomparable Manas epic," President Japarov stated.

Highlighting the deep connection between the Kyrgyz people and their language, the President cited the renowned Kyrgyz writer Chingiz Aitmatov, who once declared,

"From century to century, if the Kyrgyz live on earth, the Kyrgyz language will also live."

The president, Japarov, addressed the current use of the Kyrgyz language in social, political, and cultural realms. Nevertheless, he emphasized the significance of broadening its application in vital sectors such as education, science, and technology. The president has a vision of the Kyrgyz language serving as the basis of state policy, underscoring its crucial function in the advancement and progress of the country.

To this end, President Japarov highlighted his recent signing of the constitutional law on the state language on July 17. He expressed optimism that this legislation would facilitate the continued growth and development of the Kyrgyz language. The President urged a concerted effort to create an environment conducive to studying and broadly applying the state language.

In a forward-looking approach, President Japarov called for a departure from composing documents in other languages and translating them into Kyrgyz. He emphasized the urgent need for a comprehensive revision of the educational system to prioritize the Kyrgyz language. The President envisioned training specialists proficient in the Kyrgyz language, fostering a new generation of Kyrgyz-speaking scientists and researchers across diverse scientific disciplines.

Furthermore, President Japarov stressed the importance of enriching the scientific and technical knowledge base in the Kyrgyz language, aligning it with the demands of the modern era. The President noted that this commitment to linguistic preservation and advancement is essential to meet the evolving needs of society and secure a vibrant future for the Kyrgyz language.

As Kyrgyzstan commemorates State Language Day, President Sadyr Japarov's message resonates as a call to action, heralding a new chapter in the nation's commitment to celebrating and safeguarding its cultural and linguistic heritage. The President's vision seeks to ensure that the Kyrgyz language continues to thrive as a testament to the resilience and identity of the Kyrgyz people.
