Joan Laporta, the head of Barcelona football club, has arrived in Kyrgyzstan where he was welcomed by Kamchybek Tashiev, the chairman of the GKNB, and Baktybek Sydykov, a deputy of the Jogorku Kenesh, 24.kg reports.
During his visit, Joan Laporta will participate in the ceremonial placement of a foundation capsule for the upcoming construction of the "Barca" football academy in Bishkek. The event is anticipated to be attended by President Sadyr Japarov and the leaders of football federations from Central Asian countries.
In an earlier development, Carles Puyol, the captain of Barcelona's football team, also arrived in Bishkek.
Moreover, a friendly match is scheduled to take place on August 30 at the Spartak Stadium named after Dolon Omurzakov in the capital city. This match will feature legendary players from the Barcelona club facing off against a team from Asia.
