The State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) and Uzbekneftegaz have entered into collaborative agreements within the realm of the oil and gas sector, SOCAR's press service reports.
As part of the Azerbaijani-Uzbek business forum held on August 21, pivotal agreements were formalized. One of these agreements pertains to Uzbekneftegaz's involvement in oil and gas ventures within Azerbaijan, while the other signifies cooperation between the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan and oil and gas initiatives in Uzbekistan. The signing of these agreements involved the participation of SOCAR, Uzbekneftegaz, and the Ministry of Mining and Geology of Uzbekistan.
In conjunction with the business forum, Rovshan Najaf, the President of SOCAR, engaged in a meeting with Bahodirzhon Sidikov, Chairman of the Board of Uzbekneftegaz. The discussions during the meeting encompassed the existing status and future potential of collaboration between SOCAR and Uzbekneftegaz, particularly in the domains of oil, petrochemicals, gas chemistry, trade, logistics, and workforce development.
Furthermore, the Ministry of Economy of Azerbaijan has indicated that the business forum facilitated the signing of additional cooperative documents across various sectors, including metallurgy, accreditation, energy, and pharmaceuticals, between the entities of Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan.
