Kim Yo Jong, a senior North Korean official, and sister to the country's leader, Kim Jong Un, has condemned the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) and the United States for what she described as intrusions into North Korea's internal affairs.
This condemnation comes in response to earlier comments from the White House, which reiterated that the UN prohibits the launch of ballistic missiles into space.
Kim Yo Jong expressed her strong displeasure, stating, "I am deeply displeased and enraged at the UN Security Council, which, at the request of the United States, has frequently put our country to task for exercising its sovereign rights. I harshly denounce this as the most unjust and dishonest act. It is regarded as an intrusion into the internal affairs of our state and an attempt to undermine its sovereignty."
Meanwhile, Kim Myung-Chul, an analyst on international affairs in North Korea, accused the International Maritime Organization (IMO) of using the advance notice of missile launches to escalate a campaign against North Korea. He suggested that in the future, Pyongyang would refrain from notifying the IMO about missile launches.
