The Saudi Development Fund plans to provide the Kyrgyz Republic with $130mn to restore the Suusamyr-Talas-Taraz highway and to build housing, the Ministry of Finance of the Kyrgyz Republic reports.
The President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov held talks with the Director of the Saudi Fund Sultan Abdulrahman Al-Marshad. The head of the Ministry of Finance of the Kyrgyz Republic, Almaz Baketaev, also participated in the meeting.
The Saudi and Kyrgyz sides signed agreements on projects for the construction of affordable housing and the reconstruction of a road in the Talas region of the Kyrgyz Republic.
More than 50,000 Kyrgyz families will be provided with apartments and houses by 2026 as part of the My Home 2021-2026 program.
“The signed loan agreements are very important projects for the state. The Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan must ensure their timely implementation. I will take control of them," said the head of Kyrgyzstan.
In 2022, the Saudi Foundation has already launched two projects in the Kyrgyz Republic - the reconstruction of the City Children's Clinical Emergency Hospital and the construction of a public school funded by the Foundation.
This is already the 14th educational institution that is reportedly being built within the framework of the Project. In total, it is planned to build 30 public schools in various regions of Kyrgyzstan.
