The Central Asian Football Association supports the participation of the Russian Federation in the tournament which will be held in Tashkent and Bishkek in June this year. This is reported by rusfootball.info publication with reference to the Iranian Football Federation.
“As far as we know, all CAFA participants, Iran, Afghanistan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan, support the participation of the Russian team in the Central Asian summer football tournament,” the press service of the federation informed.
However, according to the same online publication the Russian side may reject the proposal which is more probable.
The Russian national football team has not participated in international tournaments for a year after FIFA and UEFA's decisions to strip the national team from all competitions controlled by these organizations. During the suspension, the national team played only a few friendly matches with teams from Asia.
