A small business owner in the Yagihayot district of Tashkent on Thursday (February 23) reported that someone brocked the lock and stole valuables from his store last night. Media says that law enforcers identified a 33-year-old previously convicted citizen, allegedly drunk on the day of committing the theft.
‘On February 22, I was very drunk and broke the door of a liquor store. Then I took the computer, phone, money, alcohol, and cigarettes and fled’, the man said.
Criminal proceedings were instituted against the man under Article 169 (theft) of the Criminal Code.
Presumably, he will either be fined up to 15mn UZS or involved in compulsory community service of up to 360 hours or corrective labor for up to two years. The article also provides for the restriction of liberty from one to three years or its deprivation for up to three years. The court will decide which of these punishments the offender will receive.
