A couple died allegedly of carbon monoxide poisoning in the Sharof Rashidov district of Jizzakh region on February 10, media reports.
Reportedly, the couple went into the bathroom on the night of February 9 and did not come out until 8:00 am. The two boys, alarmed by this, inquired and found them dead.
Diyor Polatov, the assistant to the district governor, reported that the accident was caused by smoke from the smokestack.
'When we checked, the stove installed in the bathroom was illegal. It is not clear whether the poisoning was caused by carbon monoxide. The regional prosecutor's office is investigating the case,' Hamza Shodiev, deputy head of the district gas supply company, said.
