The Imperial Palace in Tokyo on November 9 held an awards ceremony for Uzbekistan’s Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Tourism and Cultural Heritage Aziz Abdukhakimov, who received the Grand Cordon of the Order of the Rising Sun awarded by Emperor of Japan Naruhito in the presence of Prime Minister Fumio Kishida, the press service of the Ministry of Tourism and Cultural Heritage reports. The award recognizes the long-standing contribution to strengthening friendly relations between Japan and Uzbekistan.
The Order of the Rising Sun was established in 1875 by Emperor Meiji. The design of the Rising Sun symbolizes energy as influential as the rising Sun in parallel with the ‘rising sun’ concept of Japan (Land of the Rising Sun).
