On November 11, President Mirziyoyev gave a speech at the ceremony of planting young trees within the framework of the "Yashil Makon" program in Registan Square.
“I am pleased to welcome you once again in the city of Samarkand, the capital of Turkish civilization.
Today, we held the first historic summit of the Organization of Turkic States and made an important decision. We signed the Samarkand Declaration heralding a new era of Turkic world civilization. At the same time, we are entering a new stage of the civilization of the Turkic world, standing in the magnificent Registan Square, which has witnessed many historical events. Continuing the age-old traditions of our great ancestors, we are starting another auspicious initiative.
"Yashil Makon" in Uzbekistan, the long-term National Forest Program in Turkmenistan aimed at turning all regions and the capital Ashgabat into a green area has been implemented effectively.
In Turkey, November 11 is widely celebrated as National Planting Day. For many years, initiatives to plant saplings have been successfully implemented in Azerbaijan on the basis of the "Green Marathon" program. A five-year national program for greening all regions is being implemented in Kazakhstan.
In the Kyrgyz Republic, 2022 has been declared the "Year of Mountain Ecosystem and Climate Stability", and the national campaign "Green Heritage" is being actively continued as part of it. We wholeheartedly welcome the Hungarian Government's large-scale program for additional greening of cities.
It is no exaggeration to say that all these works are a clear symbol of our common aspirations for the common development and prosperity of the Turkic peoples. We highly appreciate the fact that today the respected leaders of the Turkic world are planting saplings on this blessed land with their own hands.
After all, these sprouts are trees of life, friendship and mutual trust, spirituality and gardens of the future. There is a wise saying in our Turkic peoples that "the goodwill last". I am sure that our current and future generations will certainly enjoy the fruits of the gardens that we are creating today with good intentions, - Shavkat Mirziyoyev concluded.
