The Presidents of Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Turkey, and Azerbaijan will participate in the forthcoming meeting on 11 November. Turkmenistan and Hungary will also attend the summit as observers. The session will focus on new areas of cooperation among countries, including trade and transport.
Following the meeting, the leaders plan to adopt the Samarkand Declaration of the Council of Heads of State of the OTS, reflecting the summit's significant decisions and the initiatives Uzbekistan proposed. After the meeting in Samarkand, the status of the chairman in the OTS will pass from Turkey to Uzbekistan.
The Turkic Council was established in 2009. Initially, it included Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Turkey. Uzbekistan joined the union in 2019. In November 2021, the council was renamed the Organization of Turkic States.
