Uzbekistan has donated 2,000 sets of school supplies to children from war-affected Ukrainian families, reaffirming its support for humanitarian initiatives and solidarity with the Ukrainian people.

According to the Embassy of Ukraine in Tashkent, the donation was part of a broader effort to support Ukrainian children impacted by the ongoing war.
From June 5 to 17, 97 children from cities including Kharkiv, Kherson, Mykolaiv, Zaporizhzhia, Sumy, Khmelnytskyi, Lviv, and Kyiv spent 12 days in Uzbekistan as part of a rest and rehabilitation program.
The embassy expressed deep gratitude to the Uzbek government and people for the warmth and care extended to the children during their stay.
“For two weeks, Uzbekistan became a real home for them, full of care,” the embassy stated.
The initiative was led by the Uzbek side and highlighted what the Ukrainian diplomatic mission called a “vivid proof of deep friendship and solidarity between peoples.”

Special thanks were given to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for coordination, the Federation of Trade Unions for its support, and the Ministry of Preschool and School Education for organizing an engaging and meaningful program for the children.
In particular, appreciation was expressed for the 2,000 humanitarian “first-grader kits” provided to Ukrainian schoolchildren.
“Such assistance is invaluable for Ukraine, bringing hope and smiles to children in need of support. We deeply appreciate your humanity and openness. Together we will build a strong future,” read a statement from the Ukrainian Embassy.
This year’s visit continues a tradition of support. In 2023, Uzbekistan hosted 45 Ukrainian children and their chaperones for a similar 12-day rehabilitation trip at the Anor mountain resort. Uzbekistan has also regularly dispatched humanitarian aid to Ukrainian children and families in need.
