Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin, at a meeting of the joint commission with the participation of the heads of government of Russia and Uzbekistan, announced that Russia has proposed establishing the production of civilian drones in Uzbekistan.
Over the past seven years, trade turnover between the two countries has increased 2.5 times, reaching $10bn by 2023. Since the beginning of this year, there has been an additional 30% growth, with plans to increase this figure to $30bn in the coming years.
The total volume of joint investment projects amounts to $60bn, and the number of enterprises with Russian participation exceeds 3,000. The cooperation covers sectors such as energy, mining and metallurgy, textiles, chemicals, and other industries.
In particular, plans are underway to establish drone production in Uzbekistan. Mishustin stated that they are exploring opportunities for "localizing the production of civilian unmanned aerial systems and their components."
Additionally, Russia intends to organize production in the field of railway engineering in Uzbekistan. Russian investors are already planning to establish the production of polymer materials for this purpose.
Moreover, Uzbekistan and Russia have agreed on the mutual exchange of drug labelling codes.
As a result of the meeting, the parties signed an agreement on the implementation of the "Agroexpress" project.
