During the 9th Eastern Economic Forum (EEF) held in Vladivostok on September 5 under the slogan "Far East 2030. Combining Strengths to Create New Potential", Russian President Vladimir Putin addressed the growing needs of Uzbekistan, citing the country's rapid population and economic growth. The forum attracted high-level participation, including Vice President of the People's Republic of China, Han Zheng and Prime Minister of Malaysia, Anwar Ibrahim.
In his speech, President Putin pointed to the significant challenges Uzbekistan faces due to its swift demographic and economic expansion, stressing the need for additional resources to support the country's continued development.
Putin's remarks came as part of a broader discussion on the role of Russia in supporting its Central Asian neighbors and the mutual benefits of collaboration in the region. He highlighted Russia's capacity to assist Uzbekistan in meeting its energy needs, pointing to the extreme weather conditions in Tashkent as an example of the challenges the country faces.
The Eastern Economic Forum, an annual event that focuses on economic cooperation, infrastructure development and investment opportunities in Russia's Far East, has become a key platform for dialogue between Russia and its Asian neighbors.
