Tajikistan has extended an invitation to Pakistani students affected by recent events in Kyrgyzstan, offering them the chance to continue their studies at Tajik universities without any interruption.
The announcement came during a meeting between Tajikistan's Ambassador Yusuf Sharifzoda and Punjab Governor Sardar Saleem Haider Khan on August 18. The discussions focused on enhancing bilateral relations between Pakistan and Tajikistan across trade, culture, and education sectors.
Ambassador Sharifzoda emphasized that Tajikistan would provide special facilities for Pakistani investors and facilitate the arrival of cultural delegations from Tajikistan to Pakistan. He also highlighted opportunities for Pakistani businesses to export surgical instruments and leather products to Tajikistan.
Governor Haider acknowledged the potential for increased business activities between the two countries, noting that Pakistan's Special Economic Facilitation Council offers significant advantages for investors. He pointed out the high-quality furniture produced in Pakistan as another area for potential trade growth.
Both sides expressed a strong desire to boost people-to-people connections and deepen their cooperation in various fields. The governor stressed that Tajik investors could benefit from Pakistan’s investment opportunities, while Tajikistan remains open to fostering greater economic and cultural ties with Pakistan.
