President Shavkat Mirziyoyev has given his approval to the establishment of two tourist zones in the Kashkadarya region of Uzbekistan. The first, known as the Shakhrisabz tourist center, is set to be built near the city of the same name, spanning an expansive 240 hectares. This facility will include the construction of a hotel, guest houses, health and entertainment facilities, along with various service amenities.
In the Kamashi district, a second zone named the Maydanak-Vysokogorny tourist center is planned across 58.6 hectares. This center will feature a hotel and sanatorium, a cable car, a ski resort, and other recreational amenities. Both tourist zones will allocate land plots through online auctions, allowing entrepreneurs to purchase or lease these areas. The generated revenue will contribute to departmental activities and infrastructure development.
Buyers are required to adhere to the master plan, general plan, and detailed layout for constructing the designated facilities on their acquired plots. Alternatively, land plots within the centers can be sold as turnkey projects, wherein investment companies take charge of constructing hotels, cable cars, ski resorts, and other amenities for subsequent sale.
For financing these developments, up to $50mn will be allocated through the National Bank of Uzbekistan (NBU), Asakabank, Turonbank, and Uzpromstroybank, with a fixed annual interest rate of 5%. The repayment period for loans, including a three-year grace period, is set at five years.
Additionally, President Mirziyoyev has instructed the preparation of a master plan for a tourist complex in the Kainar Mahalla of the Kitab district. A total of 16 hectares of land will be auctioned with investment obligations amounting to $15mn. This initiative aligns with the broader strategy to enhance tourism infrastructure, as evidenced by the earlier directive to commence passenger flights to Shakhrisabz in the upcoming year.
