In a recent update, the World Bank has announced the forthcoming release of an e-commerce readiness index for Uzbekistan, scheduled to be unveiled by the year's end. This revelation came from World Bank e-commerce expert Ilkhom Aliyev during the International PLUS Forum held in Tashkent.
The index is designed to showcase the preparedness of each region within the country for engaging in e-commerce activities. Preliminary findings suggest that Tashkent leads the way with the highest readiness indicator, while the Surkhandarya region demonstrates a comparatively lower level of preparedness.
A comprehensive analysis was conducted, considering factors such as consumer skills, Internet accessibility, and the efficiency of goods delivery. The index aims to provide valuable insights into the varying degrees of e-commerce readiness across Uzbekistan, contributing to a better understanding of the digital landscape in different regions.
Earlier it was reported that the Ministry of Economy and Finance of Uzbekistan hosted a significant meeting with representatives from the World Bank. The gathering focused on the critical topic of "Strategies to minimize competitiveness in Uzbekistan and increase the efficiency of state costs."
